Il Castello is an Italian Restaurant who’s namesake is of course Windsor Castle. This is appropriate not only because the restaurant is in Windsor, but also because it sits almost in the castles shadow, at the end of picturesque Church Street, this family run restaurant is located in a quaint building dating back to 1423.
Castello Restaurant Windsor offers the ideal vantage point for one to people watch and at the same time tuck into some superb home made Italian dishes. In fact the location is one of our favourites, as the alfresco seating on the cobbled street is one of the more romantic spots to dine in Windsor, more so on a warm summers evening. The menu is extensive and includes a wide variety of pizza, pasta, steaks and a selection of daily specials.
We enjoyed a lunch here of prawn taglieatelle with cherry tomatoes, a side salad of mozerella, tomatoes and avocadoes, and a finished it all off with Il Castello’s home made tiramisu (Worth trying!).
Castello Restaurant Windsor is open seven days a week this is one restaurant you probably shouldn’t miss in Windsor. For those with an interest in the supernatural, be sure to ask about the resident ghost! Buon appetito!
